Aquiestoy is the acoustic-meets-analog creative music project of guitarist, singer and multi-instrumentalist Carlos Snaider. Based in Seattle with Nuyorican and Ecuadorian roots, Aquiestoy bridges diasporic musical sensibilities with hip-hop, electronica, and poems sung in English and Spanish, with the intention that the message be felt in the music even if the words are lost in translation. A composer and experimentalist on a lifelong journey to explore deeper meanings of harmony, Carlos is taking his years of writing for Seattle jazz and Latin bands into a forthcoming solo-produced album that explores hybrid spaces, diaspora, consciousness and the anatomy of grooves with multiple percussionists, synths, and a songwriter’s pen. Whether tracked in home studios or realized live with bands in the US and South America, the urge is always towards raw, new, danceable sounds that are grounded in an essence that connects him and his collaborators with the beyond, through the here and now.
