Clock-Out Lounge Presents: Early Moods w/ Magick Potion and guests tba

Clock-Out Lounge Presents:Early Moods w/ Magick Potionand guests tbaTues 4/8Doors 8pm21+$17adv/$20doshttps://earlymoods.bandcamp.com/Early Moods is a Doom/Heavy Metal band from Los Angeles, CA that pays homage to bands like Candlemass, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Trouble and Sabbath. Early Moods was founded in 2015 by Andrade and vocalist/keyboardist Alberto Alcarazafter a few years of playing in thrash and death metal projects before the two realizedthat the classic doom that theyd grown up with was what they really wanted to explore.Going through a few lineup changes while delving deeper into the diverging influences that were calling, Early Moods arrived at the sound and lineup that grew their fanbase locally. The band released their debut EP Spellbound in 2020 on German label Dying Victim Productions, followed by their self-titled debut full length on Riding Easy Recordsin 2023. Early Moods is Oscar Hernandez on lead guitar, Chris Flores on drums, Elix Felciano on bass, Alcaraz on vocals/synth and Andrade on guitar.https://magickpotionband.bandcamp.com/Hailing from the rural outskirts of Baltimore, consisting of founder, Dresden Boulden on Guitar and Vocals, Triston Grove on Bass, and Jason Kendall on Drums. Magick Potion is a hard hitting heavy rock trio channeling the raw energy and heavy grooves of the late 60s and early 70s. Clearly hooked on the likes of underrated groups such as Blue Cheer, The Amboy Dukes and Budgie, the band crafts a sound that fuses heavy rocks gritty riffs with contrasting moments boarding on psychedelia. With roaring guitars, thunderous drums and hard driving bass lines Magick Potion conjures a vibe that is both nostalgic yet contemporary and original. Their music is a bridge to an era where rock was rebellious, loud and unfiltered, yet they infuse it with a spirit all their own.

Clock-Out Lounge Presents: Sumac w/ White Boy Scream, Grave Infestation

Clock-Out Lounge Presents:SumacWhite Boy ScreamGrave Infestation Saturday June 22nd 8:30 PM21+$22 adv/$25 doshttps://sumac.bandcamp.com/album/two-beasts-lp-versionAs an artist in this time of significant upheaval, society seemingly having reached the end of its current iteration, its of critical importance to absorb and interpret this process of dissolution – and of the transformation that hopefully follows it says Aaron Turner, guitarist and vocalist for the expressionistic metal ensemble SUMAC. While I dont believe were on the brink of collective destruction precisely now, this is clearly a pivotal stage in the story of humankind – and there is something that feels right about this music at this exact and very uncertain moment. In this case, the music in discussion is May You Be Held, the latest album for the American-Canadian trio. Picking up where the band left off with 2018s Love in Shadow, SUMAC push further into the extreme polarity of their sound with their latest collection of long-form composition and free-form exploration. Meticulously detailed and complex one moment, rudimentary and repetitive the next, and completely untethered and unscripted at seemingly random intervalsits an album that fluctuates between extreme discipline and control on one end and an almost feral energy on the other.SUMACs work has always been about transition between different states of being. Our sense of normal, and indeed our sense of life, is now being shaken. We dont know what is coming next. We are looking for pointers towards the future, as well as things to hold onto in the moment. This is a fundamental aspect of May You Be Helds larger theme. Musically, its about continual unification and divergenceand is imbued with the uncertainty inherent in that cycle. In that uncertainty there is also hope, frustration, madness, and a desire for connection. All this too is part of this moment in our historyeverything happening at once, the simultaneous emergence of humanitys best and worst characteristics. Lyrically, May You Be Held follows the humanistic themes explored on Love in Shadow, partially informed by Turners navigation of fatherhood and family life. Its clear humans have figured out many ways over the centuries to acclimate to adverse circumstances, and even to thrive in them, Turner says. My hope for our family, humanity and future generations, is that we find our way by doing what we have always doneinvent, adapt, band together, and ideally, hold each other up through love and kindness.https://wbscream.bandcamp.com/album/hustle-divinehttps://graveinfestation.bandcamp.com/
