ONONOS is a mangled dark disco experience led by composer and producer, Ross Marshall and vocalist and composer Marcus Wilson, based in Seattle. Described as "pulsing, sexy future-synth like standing in the spinning vortex of a haunted house" by The Stranger, ONONOS’ sound and aesthetic expand upon elements of synth-punk, mutant-disco, no-wave, and post-punk dance music. ONONOS strives to make their live performances a multimedia experience; incorporating striking visuals, elaborate costumes, and damaged dance-anthems for a haunted alien discotheque.
Their first album, ONONOS, is a dark, heady mix of electro-punk, cold-wave, and damaged art-house dance tracks. Abrasive, at times challenging; yet surprisingly catchy, danceable, and at certain moments, almost human. Sounds like Nirvana's Incesticide filtered through Liquid Sky (1983) and Throbbing Gristle. ONONOS first record is released on Cruisin’ records
