Titled Their Prime, the LP does sound like fucked-up Beatles. It sounds like, somewhere across an 80s universe, Lennon and McCartney discovered Can and Neu!, and maybe a little Sonic Youth and XTC along the way. Opening with Left, it demonstrates that timeless knack for dreamy melodies chord progressions that sound like they were created in a land far far away. Lyrically, however, its imbued with a philosophical longing for answers to questions that have resurfaced for the first time since the explosion of counterculture in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Clock-Out Lounge Presents:Juanita & JuanGraveyard Of The Pacific Lushy Tuesday April 22nd8PM doors21+$18adv/$23 dosJuanita and Juan is a dynamic musical duo formed by Alice Bag and Kid Congo Powers, two influential figures in the punk and alternative music scenes who first crossed paths in 1977 during the early days of the Hollywood punk movement. Their friendship, rooted in a shared passion for raw, boundary-pushing music, has led to a new creative partnership that transcends genres and defies labels, although the two refer to their sound as Loud Lounge.Alice Bag, a founding member of the pioneering punk band the Bags, is known for her fierce stage presence and unapologetic, feminist approach to punk music. She has spent decades championing the voices of women in rock and advocating for social justice, both through her music and activism. Kid Congo Powers, an original member of The Gun Club and a key player in The Cramps, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, as well as his own band, Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds, brings his audacious blend of noisy, psych-infused rock with a touch of glam. His unique guitar playing and distinctive style have made him a beloved figure in underground music circles.Together, Juanita and Juan blend their influencesBags fiery vocals and penchant for dark melody with Powers atmospheric, reverb-laden guitar tonescreating a musical landscape that is both nostalgic and fresh-sounding. Their collaboration captures the adventurous spirit of their punk roots while embracing new sonic territory. The duos chemistry is undeniable, with their musical partnership serving as both a testament to their enduring friendship and the spirit of musical exploration that began for the pair in 1976, proving that punk is not just a genre, but a lasting, ever-evolving attitude.
Clock-Out Lounge Presents:Snooperw/ Telehealth, Sux Friday April 18th8:30 doors21+$20 adv/$23 dos https://snooper7.bandcamp.com/Snper (the Project) began as a collaboration between local Nashville punk mainstay Connor Cummins and Blair Tramel, an early education teacher with a sideline in wickedly funny animation and art. As their cassette tapes and homemade videos began to find scattered fans around the world, the duo brought the Project to the live stage in late 2021 and Snper (the Band) was born.Featuring one of the wildest live shows out there, as well a maelstrom of puppets, 8 bit animation, papier-mch, whistles, flashing lights and a whirling dervish of bodies, Snper commits the live act to a studio setting and sets the stage for one of the most promising punk debut albums in decades. But dont take our word for it; heres Henry Rollins, at-length on the magic of Snper:In the briefest of descriptions, Snper is a band who, in a 33 1/3 rpm world, make 45 rpm music they play at 78 and it completely works.https://telehealth.bandcamp.com/https://suxmusic.bandcamp.com/
