Heiress
Heiress is an American band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2006. Their style blends influences from hardcore punk, heavy metal and post-rock. They signed to Deathwish Inc. in 2010, and released their debut album Early Frost in 2013.
Fungal Abyss
Fungal Abyss is a sound collective from Seattle that creates free-flowing psychedelic improvisations
Spacebag
Spacebag is an instrumental “party prog metal” band formed in Seattle in 2011. Members include Dave Webb (Girth, Moon Letters) on guitar, Luke Laplante (Sean, Eye of Nix) on keyboards, and Andrew Gormley (Rorschach, Kiss It Goodbye, Playing Enemy) on drums.
Their first album, 2012’s Magnetic Struggle, blasts into a galaxy where mega-distorted keys, heavy guitars, and brutal drums pull the listener in every direction. Brian Cook, of Russian Circles, writes in The Stranger (Seattle’s weekly arts/culture magazine) “Seriously, it's like they vacuumed Rush's "YYZ," Nomeansno's "Obsessed," and “Lightning Bolt's "Dracula Mountain" into one dense chunk of frantic, agitated prog punk.”
Spacebag turned everything to 11 with their 2015 album, Pareidolia! Listeners might imagine Deep Purple hangin’ with Rush and Van Halen at a pool party hosted by Carcass! Spacebag even recorded a cover of Rush’s “Cygnus X-1,” reimagined in their own style and aptly titled “Bagnus X-1.” Nocleansinging.com states “You should take this music seriously – it’s wildly creative, exuberantly performed and full of more technical whiz-bang than is strictly legal.” Shane Mehling also writes in Decibel Magazine #140, “Underground legend Andrew Gormley may be on the drums, but Spacebag punt much of their focus towards Luke Laplante’s keyboard work and his contribution to the twisted brilliance of their prismatic instru-shred, party prog-thrash.”
